Translocation
Translocation was a 15-day print residency in Xi’an China, bringing an English woodland to Xi’an and creating a Chinese forest from photographic images of local trees.
The project involved small lenticular version of Wytham Woods, a specially made packing case and a new work created in Xi’an, in which the height of the trees reflected the mountainous topography of the area. The latter was informed by historical Chinese depictions of the landscape.
